IN MEMORY OF JEFF RADKE

Jeff Radke passed away in February 1995. He apparently drowned in the Carbon River while hiking in a gorge below a bridge just outside of the Mt. Ranier National Park. No one was with him at the time, the river was flooded with snow melt runoff, and his body was never recovered. A memorial was held on June 16, 1995 at the Methodist church in Goddard. The memorial was attended by his family, Bill Schnittker and Brad McClure.

Jeff was born in Manhattan, Kansas on July 30, 1963. He received a BS in Business Administration from Kansas State University in 1985. He then worked at Grand Canyon Park and Jackson, Wyoming Park until 1988. During 1989 and 1990 he worked at Jackson Hole Ski Resort and became an expert skier. He served in the Navy out of Whidbey Island on the USS Ranger from 1991 until 1994 and did at least one tour in the Red Sea during Desert Storm. He lived and worked in Seattle after leaving the Navy in 1994, until his death. Jeff had no children and never married.
