Senior Class of 1981 - Goddard High School Goddard, KS 67052 Updated: June 8, 2004
This site is dedicated to the memory of those who have gone before us:
Current Events Goddard High School's graduating class of 1981 celebrated its 20 year class reunion. This web site is the result of that celebration. It is our hope that many of those unable to attend that year's festivities will look through this site, realize all the fun they missed, and come to the next reunion. In addition, we want to share as much information about our class as possible. On the following pages, there are a multitude of pictures, stories, and information provided to make everyone more closely connected with one another.
Player's Sports Bar and Grill Is where it began Friday's activities initiated the festivities for our reunion. Everyone met at Player's for a great evening of intoxicating fun. The evening was meant to reunite old friends and provide a relaxed atmosphere for everyone. For those who were not available to attend the events on Saturday, Player's was a perfect opportunity to get together and say "Hello." The event was a great time for everyone, except our brand new banner which was stolen from in front of Player's. Considering Goddard played Maize in football that night, we suspect that Maize High School students had something to do with the banner's disappearance. Pictures are accessible by clicking on either of these two links: Player's Pictures #1 or Player's Pictures #2. After going to the new Goddard High School on Saturday, everyone met at Sedgwick County Park to spend some good quality time with family and friends. The owners of Quiznos were nice enough to sponsor the event, providing containers and drinks for everyone. There are pictures of the event accessible by clicking here. Airport Hilton and Control Tower where awesome! The weekend culminated into a wonderful dinner served at the Airport Hilton. The Hilton did a fantastic job decorating for our reunion and the culinary cuisine was exquisite. Way to go Airport Hilton. After dinner, a presentation of days gone by, all the way through to today was shown. Everyone enjoyed the show. Thanks to everyone for providing the pictures used for the show. After the show, Goddard had its own rendition of the Weakest Link, with Chris Dennis winning. Shannon Opfer was a strong second, and Brent Becker was a seriously weak link! Be sure to look for Brad Newberry in the pictures if you want to see someone who has not changed at all. On the flip-side, see if you can recognize John Olenick. None of us could! Pictures are available by click on this text. Fifteen golfers attended the 20 year reunion's scramble golf tournament hosted by Reflection Ridge Golf Club. The golf course was brought to its knees by these awesome golfers from Goddard. Among those playing were Ken Greenwood, Glen Cork, John Olenick, Chris Dennis, Tammy Woods Vicin, Rob Vicin, Perry Banwart (Pat Salber's husband), Dave Taliaferro (1980 graduate), Martin Noller, Jeff Doyle, Wende Doyle, Farrell Jones (9th grade football coach), Glenn Dugan, Shari Morrison Wright, and Kevin Wright. Glen, Kenny, and John nosed out with a victory with a low team score of 62. Chris Dennis proved that size doesn't matter by putting his tee shot closest to the pin on No. 12. And Pat Salber Banwart has a little something extra in husband Perry, who out-drove the competition to walk away with longest drive honors. Thanks to everyone who participated. Maybe we can make this event even bigger and better next time. Pictures are available by clicking on this text.
